On June 26–28, 2017, the project “Mobility, Microstructures and Personal Agency in Byzantium” will hold a three-day conference “Courts on the Move: Perspectives from the Global Middle Ages.” “Mobility, Microstructures and Personal Agency in Byzantium,” financed through the 2015 Wittgenstein-Prize of the Austrian National Research Foundation (FWF), highlights the role of Byzantium as a global culture.
