The Department of History at Washington State University seeks to hire a Clinical Assistant Professor to teach courses in Ancient Greece and Rome, World history (pre-1500), as well as courses in historical writing and methods that are required for the history major. Specific area of specialization is open.

This is a 100% FTE, 9-month academic appointment with 60% teaching, 20% research, and 20% service. The candidate will teach a 3:3 load and will be expected periodically to teach online courses. The research expectation requires the candidate to show evidence of continual progress in a well-defined research program in their area of specialization. Scholarship related to pedagogy would be welcome. The service requirement will involve activities related to the History curriculum (curriculum revisions, assessment of learning outcomes) and additional support in areas related to the department’s undergraduate program.

The position is for two years and is renewable.
