The College of Fine Arts at Florida State University invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Art History at the rank of Full Professor. The Chair of Art History will provide innovative and inspiring leadership, work with faculty to develop and advance a strategic vision for the Department, and demonstrate the ability to embody, support, and convey our mission of teaching, research, and service to varying audiences. Candidates with a compelling record of scholarship and teaching that complement and extend existing fields within the Department, combined with relevant administrative experience, are invited to apply.

The successful candidate will:
- Possess a Ph.D. in Art History and/or related discipline with a strong record of promoting high quality teaching, research, and service.
- Hold credentials appropriate for a tenured appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
- Present a strong record of effective leadership and management of multidisciplinary programs and people utilizing clear communication, appropriate delegation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a proven commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice that creates an environment where diverse faculty, staff, and students thrive.
