The British Library is undertaking a major new portfolio of work to look strategically at digitisation and access to its collections. Heritage Made Digital is an important and ambitious new initiative, central to the library’s Living Knowledge vision. With the Asia and Africa department we are digitising Coptic and Syriac collection items from our collections as part of the Christian Orient Digitisation project.

Working within a multidisciplinary team cataloguers will scope, catalogue and create administrative and structural metadata to support the project.

The successful candidate will have Syriac language skills, experience of working with manuscripts and the ability to work to deadlines.

This is a full time, fixed term (8 months) position.
