The Governing Body of St John’s College, University of Oxford, proposes to elect up to four Career Development Research Fellows, in the following subjects: Early Medieval History, Archaeology and Anthropology, Music, Politics, Chemistry, Engineering, and Biology.

The fellowships will be tenable either from 1st October 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Career Development Research Fellows are primarily expected to undertake original research. A small proportion of the role is allocated to academic activities other than research, for the purposes of career development. This may include some teaching, or other duties.

The fellowships are normally awarded to those who are approaching the end of their doctoral research. Candidates should have submitted their doctoral thesis no later than three months, and no earlier than three years, before the start of this post.
