The Society for the Promotion of Byzantine Studies President Dame Averil Cameron will give the SPBS Autumn Lecture "Byzantium: Commonwealth, Empire or Nation-state?" at the University of Birmingham on October 31, 2019.

Dame Averil Cameron  is professor emerita at the University of Oxford and was formerly warden of Keble College, Oxford.
