Byzantine, Ottoman, and Modern Greek Studies in an Interdisciplinary World, Western Consortium for Hellenic Studies Graduate Student Conference, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies, Simon Fraser University, March 31–April 2, 2016
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies at Simon Fraser University and the Western Consortium for Hellenic Studies invites the submission of proposals for the 2nd Western Consortium for Hellenic Studies Graduate Student Conference. The theme of this year’s conference is: Byzantine, Ottoman, and Modern Greek Studies in an Interdisciplinary World. The conference will take place at SFU’s Downtown Vancouver campus on March 31 to April 2, 2016.
Graduate students and recent PhDs interested in participating in this year’s conference are requested to submit a proposal of not more than 350 words. The conference organizers are especially interested in papers that reflect the full range of topics being explored in Byzantine, Ottoman, and Modern Greek Studies today. The committee will consider papers in all fields of the Humanities and Social Sciences. The conference will provide an opportunity for students and young academics to present their work to an interdisciplinary scholarly audience and to participate in a discussion that seeks to create stronger ties between scholars working across different time periods.
