The British Institute at Ankara welcomes applications for 2016–2017 Strategic Research Initiatives - Study Grants.

BIAA is internationally renowned for conducting world-class research in Turkey and the Black Sea region in the fields of history, archaeology and related social sciences. As one of the British Academy's Overseas Institutes, the BIAA facilitates the work of UK academics working in Turkey, and promotes collaborations with scholars based in Turkey and the Black Sea region.

Strategic Research Initiatives - Study Grants offer support for postdoctoral researchers to carry out periods of study abroad in the fields of the arts, humanities and the social sciences that is related to and/or undertaken in Turkey and the Black Sea littoral. Research proposals must fit within of the Strategic Research Initiatives currently sponsored by the Institute.
