The University of Warwick seeks to appoint a full-time permanent Associate Professor in History of Art from 1 January 2023. The role requires in-person teaching and administration primarily at the University of Warwick’s Coventry campus and also for periods at its Venice base.
You will be specialised in art and / or architecture of the period 1300-1700 CE. Contributing to our well-established Venice programme, you will have a strong commitment to developing teaching and other activity at our Venice base. This could be within the context of expertise in northern Italian art, or through a broader geographical specialism, for example in the wider Mediterranean region or in the global Renaissance or Baroque.
As an experienced and enterprising teacher, you will be able to engage undergraduate and masters students from a diverse range of backgrounds, and recruit excellent PhD students. You will contribute to innovation in teaching and assessment, monitor student progress, and provide timely and effective feedback on student work in accordance with University policy. You will be required to deliver our ten-week autumn term teaching programme in Venice on a regular basis, including our core BA module, 'Venice, Rise and Myth: 1100-1600'.
