The Department of History at Missouri State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the field of Medieval European History (circa 500–1500CE). Area of specialization within Medieval European history is open: candidates whose work considers inter-regional connections or takes a broader geographic or thematic orientation are welcome.

The appointment will begin August 17, 2016. Although outstanding candidates who are in the final stages of dissertation writing (ABD) may be considered, appointment to the tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor requires the earned doctorate by August 17, 2016.

The appointee will be responsible for teaching upper-level and graduate courses in Medieval History which compliment current offerings, as well as introductory survey sections of World History.
