The Department of Art History at the University of Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the arts, architecture, and/or archaeology of medieval Europe and/or the medieval Mediterranean, 500-1500 CE.

The Department seeks applicants with ambitious research agendas and a serious commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. An engagement with interdisciplinary medieval studies is strongly encouraged. The appointment will begin 1 July 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter. All requirements for the PhD must be completed by the start of the appointment.
