The Division of Arts & Humanities at UC San Diego, in partnership with The Huntington Library, announces a search for an entry-level Assistant Professor specializing in the History of Early Modern Science. The successful candidate will be appointed in the Department of History with membership in the Science Studies Program. During the first five years of employment, the appointee will have up to two years of full-time research as a fellow in residence at The Huntington (the second year subject to approval). The department is therefore searching for a scholar whose research will engage deeply with The Huntington’s collections.

Qualifications
A PhD in history of science and technology or a related field is required by the time of appointment, evidence of excellence in teaching commensurate with experience, and publications appropriate to the candidate’s discipline and experience. All candidates should submit a statement that articulates how their research projects will make use of The Huntington collections.
