Old Dominion University seeks an assistant professor specializing in the art of ancient Mediterranean beginning fall 2016. A secondary area of expertise in archaeology, Medieval and Byzantine art, and/or museum studies preferred.
Responsibilities include advising, curriculum development, program coordination on a rotating basis, service activities for department, college, and university, and engagement in professional development.
Qualifications
- College-level teaching experience beyond that of teaching assistant
- Ability to teach upper-level undergraduate and occasional graduate-level courses in art of the ancient Mediterranean (in particular, art of the Greek and Roman world), in addition to art history survey courses and writing intensive methodology course
- Evidence of scholarly publication in the art of the Mediterranean or active scholarly engagement
