The History Department of Rutgers University-Camden seeks a full-time, tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor of Ancient World History (prior to 1000 A.D.), with a specialization in Africa, the Middle East, and/or the Mediterranean world, broadly defined.

This position will contribute to the campus’s initiative to expand Global Studies. The area of specialty is open, but the successful applicant must also be able to teach survey courses in Greece and Rome. Ideal candidates will demonstrate effectiveness in teaching a diverse student body. Applicants with expertise in digital studies are also particularly encouraged to apply.

Faculty appointment will begin in September 2020, and applicants must have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment. Rutgers-Camden is part of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
