In the summer of 2007, the American Schools of Oriental Research renewed its emphasis on providing funding grants and fellowships that allow individuals to participate in excavations in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Fellowships include Heritage Fellowships, P. E. MacAllister Fellowships, Eric and Carol Meyers Fellowships, Shirlee Meyers/G. Ernest Wright Fellowships, Member-Supported Fellowships, Platt Fellowships, Sheeler Fellowships, Steinmetz Fellowships for Active/Reserve Military or Veterans, and Strange/Midkiff Families Fellowships.

Applicants must be members of ASOR or be enrolled as students at an ASOR-member school.
