Animals Near & Far, session at 27th International Medieval Congress, University of Leeds, July 6–9, 2020
The Medieval Animal Data-Network (MAD) is organizing several sessions on Animals for the International Medieval Congress that will take place at the University of Leeds in 2020. We are welcoming submissions for 20-minute presentations for the interdisciplinary session “Animals Near and Far.”
This session will explore the perception, representation, and misrepresentation of domestic, exotic and/or fantastic animals in art, literature, daily life, zooarchaeolgy, etc. Cross-cultural comparison between the Western and the Eastern perceptions of animals are welcome.
