Located in Amman, Jordan, the American Center of Research (ACOR) promotes research and publication across disciplines with a special emphasis on archaeology in the region. Each year, ACOR offers short-term fellowships to support research and archaeological work in Jordan. The following fellowships have an application deadline of February 1, 2023.
ACOR will award one NEH Fellowship for a term of at least four and not more than eight months (six months is ideal) to a scholar who has a PhD or has completed their professional training. The eligible fields of research include but are not limited to: modern and classical languages, linguistics, literature, history, jurisprudence, philosophy, archaeology, heritage studies, comparative religion, ethics, and the history, criticism, and theory of the arts. Social and political scientists are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or foreign nationals living in the U.S. three years immediately preceding the application deadline. This fellowship provides residency at ACOR’s center in Amman, Jordan. The award must commence on or after January 1, 2024, and may extend into early 2025.
