The International Congress on Medieval Studies hosted by the Medieval Institute at Western Michigan University features more than 550 sessions of papers, panel discussions, roundtables, workshops, demonstrations, screenings and performances. Special events include two plenary lectures, an annual lecture on the reception of the classics in the Middle Ages, and a dance. There are also some 100 business meetings and receptions sponsored by learned societies, associations and institutions.
