The Archaeological Institute of America is to offer fellowships for travel and study to deserving scholars. AIA scholarships are open to members of the Archaeological Institute of America.
John R. Coleman Traveling Fellowship
To honor the memory of John R. Coleman by supporting travel and study in Italy, the western Mediterranean, or North Africa. Applicants must be engaged in dissertation research in a U.S. graduate program.
Olivia James Traveling Fellowship
For travel and study in Greece, Cyprus, the Aegean Islands, Sicily, southern Italy, Asia Minor, and Mesopotamia. Applicant must be a United States citizen. Preference will be given to individuals engaged in dissertation research or to those who received their Ph.D. within five years of the application deadline.
AIA Fellowship for Study in the U.S.
The Archaeological Institute of America is pleased to announce a Fellowship for archaeologists employed by the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut (DAI), or project collaborators who have temporary contracts with the DAI. The AIA offers post-doctoral research fellowships for use during the academic year (fall 2019 or spring 2020) at either The Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), the Joukowsky Institute at Brown University, or the University of Cincinnati, Ohio.
