The Thomas Arthur Arnold Fund for Excellence in Historical Research at the Zvi Yavetz School of Historical Studies, Tel Aviv University, Israel, will award two post-doctoral fellowships in historical studies.
The one-year fellowships of $30,000 each will be awarded for the 2016-2017 academic year. Fellows will work with a senior faculty member from the School of History or an historian from the department of Jewish history at Tel Aviv University (subject to the terms of the Fund). Fellows will engage in research connected with their area of research and writing. Recipients will be expected to participate in the post-doctoral seminar of the School of History. In 2016-2017 the seminar will be dedicated to "Values, Materials and Interests: On Cultural Encounters and Historical Memory.” Fellows will be expected to reside in the Tel Aviv area.
To be eligible, candidates must have received their PhD at an accredited institution of higher learning no earlier than 1 October 2011 and no later than 1 October 2016. Holders of PhD degrees from Tel Aviv University are not eligible for this fellowship.
